International Day of Families15th May 2021
Family is for a lifetime. Children for their holistic developments need enabling environment of a happy family at home. Now all the more so as family members are staying at home due to the pandemic restrictions and accessing digital technologies to communicate, work and learn. We can all improve our parenting skills in this new normal and strengthen intra-family relationships. Families around the world are changing, many becoming smaller, as the number of single-parent households grows due to rapid socio-economic and demographic changes. The diminishing number of extended families and the increasing number of single-parent families put into sharp focus the issue of social protection. Also there is a larger family in form of the community that is in need of more cohesiveness to function in harmony. “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, possibly one of the most famous lines emerging from Sanskrit literature. This phrase is another demonstration of the all-inclusive attitude that our Indian tradition has. Unity in diversity is something that we have been practicing for thousands of years as the underlying belief says the same world over. Happy Family Day to you all. Stay Safe. Stay healthy.

Ramzan Mubarak17th April 2021
The blessed month of love, repentance, giving and sharing – Ramadan or Ramzan - is upon us and as Muslims across the world observe a month of fasting and increased recitation of the Quran to strengthen the faith, the positive smell of spiritual awakening is in the air. Ramadan fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam where observant Muslims refrain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk and traditionally gather to break their fast with a date or khajur at iftar in the evening. The purpose of fasting is to teach the selfdiscipline that is needed to prepare for the suffering that Muslims may have to face in the course of obeying God. Fasting is a communal experience that makes everyone more aware of what it is like to feel hunger. But Ramadan is not only about fasting. Its about patience, sympathy, humanity, love, forgiveness, kindness and remembrance of the almighty. Celebrate Ramzan with your family at home and if outside embrace yourself with all covid appropriate behaviour. Ramzan Mubarak to all of you. May your life be filled with health, happiness and prosperity. Stay Healthy. Stay Safe.
